Type 321 is made of titanium and has corrosion resistance. It can be repeatedly exposed to 800 °F. It is a stable stainless steel plate. Its main advantage is excellent resistance to crystal growth after exposure to temperature. The inter-corrosion is in the range of chromium carbide precipitation, from 800 to 1 SOO'F (427 to 8160 ° C). The 321 plate was stabilized by the addition of titanium to prevent the formation of chromium carbide. The 321 stainless steel plate cannot be hardened by heat treatment and can only be processed by cold working. It can be easily welded and machined through standard workshop manufacturing practices.
