FAQ: What should be pay attention to when welding 904L tube?

904L is a single phase austenite structure with high Ni and low C .Hot cracks are easy to occur in welding, especially in arc pits. So we should pay attention to the following tips.

1.Control the P, S and other toxic elements content in the base material.

2.Big groove, small fusion ratio.

3.Small heat input, no swinging allowed.

4.The interlayer temperature should be less than 60℃.

5.Reasonable welding order to reduce welding stress.

6.Choose low hydrogen welding materials.

7.Welding at the arc after grinding to avoid arcing crater crack.

8.Carbon arc gouging is not allowed on the back to prevent carburizing
